About Course
The Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care provides a broad foundation in the knowledge, principles and practices relevant to the health and social care sector. The qualification develops understanding of how care services operate, how individual needs are supported and how professionals apply effective, ethical and person-centred approaches in different care environments.
Key areas covered across the available Level 3 qualification routes include Health and Social Care services, communication, person-centred care, Human Growth and Development, health promotion, research, professional practice and personal development. Learners can also develop knowledge of specific areas of care, including Dementia, Stroke Care and Diabetes Care, depending on the qualification route selected.
The qualification carries 60 credits and is designed to support both further study and progression into employment within Health and Social Care.
Assessment is completed through internally assessed assignments. Depending on the selected qualification route and unit, assessment may include written assignments, case studies, reports, research activities, presentations or portfolio work. Learners receive feedback where further evidence is required and may have opportunities to improve and resubmit their work.
